Other platforms will release as soon as possible. Therefore, I use HeavyMetal for all of my design and printing needs.Thank you for playing BATTLETECH! Release 1.9.1 is now available on Steam and GoG. HeavyMetal does everything I need for all of my games except for the BattleForce Cards which I make myself with an excel sheet that comes out with more accurate numbers than SSW. HeavyMetal uses less memory and works faster. SSW, or rather the Java that it requires to run, is a memory hog that interferes with my computer. It's got nearly as many bugs as Java.īasically, I have a rule that if a program does not work WITH my computer and the way I run it, I will not use it unless it is the only program that does what I need to do, and in that case I will keep that program on only as long as I NEED it and then it turns back off. For the same reason I stay away from programs that require junk. I don't want to turn off half of my stuff just to have the "honor" of running Java so I stay away from programs that require it. If I want to turn on something that uses java, I have to turn off the design software, excel, PSP, most if not all of the pdfs, and stuff like that because of how much memory java hogs to boot up. I multitask a lot and have learned the wonder of keyboard shortcuts over the years.

More like I've got three to four or more PDFs open for reference in foxit reader, adobe, or adobe editor with an excel document or two open, sometimes opening Strategic ops or other game manuals to check out rules, while having HMP or whatever other design software I have open, while performing pixel-level graphics editing in Paint Shop Pro, along with Pidgin and firefox and a few other things all at the same time.
